Zak
Travel Director
If you are in contact with us to customize your tour, you are already aqcuainted with Zak. An Eagle Scout, a culture buff, and an avid traveler, Zak loves life-changing experiences and has a passion to teach and share those experiences with anyone he can.
After graduating from University, Zak had his first cultural immersion when he moved to an island in rural Japan. After four years and wanting more, he joined the United States Peace Corps and was sent to a small town in western Mongolia. He spent two years living with a family in a Mongolian yurt and worked in education and youth development. Much like Japan, he completely immersed himself in the culture and customs of his local community, becoming fluent in the Mongolian and proficient with the morin khuur (horse head fiddle) and Khoomii (Mongolian throat singing). After completing his service, Zak worked as a business development manager for a foreign investment real estate firm in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
Realizing that rural Mongolia was where his heart remained, Zak recruited Tudevee in founding Big Mongolia Travel and hasn't looked back since. Zak has a passion for working on projects that can benefit the local wildlife and endangered species. Ask him how you would like to be involved!

Tudevee
Operations Manager
Tudevee is in charge of every minute detail of every tour that we organize. He was raised as a humble nomadic herder and entered the tourism industry in his teens. Since then, he has traversed practically every inch of Mongolia and you would be hard pressed to find a mountain or a river that he wouldn’t know about.
Tudevee and Zak first met in Tudevee’s hometown of Uliastai in Zavkhan province. They both shared a passion for improving the community and exploring the Mongolian wilderness. Tudevee has led countless trips and various expeditions, ranging from horse riding and mountain biking, to climbing and off-road tours. He has also been the local logistics person for television programs including “Death Worm” on National Geographic, “Survival” on BBC, “Truck Race”, “Do Not Drive Here-Ulaanbaatar”, “Man Hunt” on the Discovery Channel, and “An Idiot Abroad” on Sky TV.
When talking to Tudevee, it is clear that he has a passion for his homeland. In his spare time he runs an NGO for his remote hometown that focuses on enironmental education for youth.
